Geyikbayırı

Geyikbayiri is a village settled on the sides of the Termessos Mountains which are 1 km away from anatural and historical site (official protection status) zone. one can reach the Termessos Mountains National Park (20km away) from the village by way of a 20 km foot path. The wicinity hosts many models related to the traditional and natural life style: It includes the TUBITAK space observatory, the Saklıkent ski resort, the ancient “Kıngs’ Road” that passes through the village, caves, mountain pastures, wooden shelters built for wheat storage in traditional methods, and water mills. With its hot nd dry summers and mild rainy winters, the region has a typical Mediterranean climate. While much of the population has migrated from the village to urban centers, the people who stay in the village live on tourism, olive productionand animal husbandry. In the mountain pastures of the village where the nomad culture predominates it is possible to encounter examples of goat-hair rugs and rug-weaving. One of the most important features of Geyikbayiri village is that it is the most important rock climbing area of Turkey and it has mountain pastures such as Feslikan and Moryer having the Mediterranean views at unique beauties.
